This policy explains how A2B Driving School collects and uses your personal information when you use our website, make an enquiry or take lessons with one of our instructors.
1. Who we are
A2B Driving School ("A2B", "we", "us") is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in it by emailing a2b.learnerenquiry@gmail.com or calling 07702 226759.
Our instructors are self-employed. Where an instructor uses your information to arrange and deliver your lessons, they are also responsible for handling it properly.
2. Information we collect
When you make an enquiry through our website, by phone, by email or through social media, we may collect:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- Your postcode, so we can match you with an instructor who covers your area
- Whether you would like manual or automatic lessons and the reason for your enquiry
- Anything else you choose to tell us in your message
If you go on to take lessons, we and your instructor may also hold details of your driving licence, lesson bookings, payments, your progress and any information you give us about your fitness to drive.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and arrange your lessons
- Pass your details to the instructor who will teach you
- Check that you are legally able to take driving lessons
- Deal with payments, refunds, complaints and disputes
- Keep appropriate business and training records
- Prevent or investigate fraud and meet our legal obligations
We will not use your information to send you marketing unless you have agreed to it, and we never sell your information.
4. Our lawful reasons
Under UK data protection law we rely on the following reasons to use your information:
- Contract: to respond to your enquiry and provide the lessons you ask for.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or share certain information.
- Legitimate interests: to run our business properly, keep records and deal with complaints, where this does not override your rights.
- Consent: where we ask for it, for example for marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
If you tell us about a health condition that affects your driving, we will only use it to keep you safe and to meet our legal obligations.
5. Who we share it with
We only share your information where we need to, with:
- The instructor who will provide your lessons
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as our email provider, EmailJS (which delivers website enquiries to us) and our website hosting provider
- The DVSA, the police or other authorities where the law requires it
6. How our website works
When you send an enquiry using the form on our website, your details are passed to EmailJS, a service that delivers the enquiry to our email inbox. If that service is unavailable, the form instead opens your own email app with your details filled in. Our website does not store your enquiry itself.
Our website does not use cookies or tracking for advertising. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit. Google's handling of that data is covered by its own privacy policy.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Enquiries that do not lead to lessons are deleted once they are no longer needed. Records of lessons and payments are kept for as long as needed for business, tax and legal purposes, and then securely deleted.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it
- Ask for your information to be given to you or another organisation in a portable format
- Withdraw your consent where we rely on it
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.
9. Learners under 18
You can start driving lessons from age 17. If you are under 18, we may also speak with a parent or guardian, for example where they are arranging or paying for your lessons.
10. Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and to make sure our instructors do the same.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
